FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the Check in/out times?

Check-in for the rooms is at 3:00pm, however, if you arrive early in the morning, we can store your luggage so you can enjoy our facilities until the rooms are ready.

Check out for the rooms is at 11:00am but once again, you’re more than welcome to spend the rest of the day with us! You can leave your luggage on our storage and pay your tab whenever you are leaving.

Can we add an extra person to our room?

All of our private rooms, with the exception of our Group Room, have a two-person occupancy limit. We cannot add any additional mattresses or cushions to any rooms and do not allow extra guests to stay in rooms beyond their intended capacity.

If you have a group, we can offer one of our Group Room, which sleeps 6. We also have dorm rooms with 8 beds and 10 beds which can be rented out entirely for a slumber party with you and your pals!

Is there a shared kitchen?

Although we have a restaurant that is open from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm offering 3 delicious meals a day, the Castle also has a kitchen for the guests to use. We also have storage for any food or drink items.

Is there free drinking water?

We provide fresh drinking water that we filter here at Bambuda. Feel free to refill your containers as well.

How do I get around?

We can arrange a taxi for you to go almost everywhere around Boquete. Just ask us!
Boquete town centre is only 2.5 km away, you can walk in about 35 min or you can take a taxi to or from town for about 3$ depending on the time of day and/or the number of people sharing the taxi.

Can I book Shuttles?

Yes, currently we offer daily shuttles to Boquete Town, Waterfalls, Volcan Barú, and more, schedule your transportation at the front desk.

CAN I BOOK TOURS? WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU OFFER?

Once you arrive at Bambuda, you can take a look at our Tour Book that has plenty of options of tours and activities to check out around Boquete. Of course, our staff is always happy to tell you about their favorites and advise which is the best activity for the day depending on the weather. You don’t need to worry about booking tours in advance of your trip, all of the tours and activities can be booked by our friendly front desk staff the day before.

Are children allowed?

We do NOT allow children under 12 or pets in the Castle.

DO YOU OFFER DAY PASSES?

You are welcome to come and visit us as long as you are consuming in our Bar/Restaurant. You will be allowed to use our facilities with a few exceptions...to preserve our guests’ privacy, visitors will NOT have access to our private rooms. Visitors also DO NOT have access to the Pool/Jacuzzi area. If you wish to have access to the Pool/Jacuzzi you can do so for a fee of $15 per person.

Photoshoot sessions

You are welcome to come and have a photoshoot session at our Castle, however you will be charged a fee of $30 for up to two people. If you have a larger group, you will be charged an additional $5 per person extra. Photoshoots can only be scheduled between 9am and 3pm and can only take place in our public facilities. For the privacy of our guests, access to private rooms is prohibited.

GETTING TO BAMBUDA Castle

FROM BOQUETE

It’s easy to get to Bambuda Castle from Boquete.

You can grab a taxi from downtown Boquete, for about 3$ (for 1 or 2 people, more would be 1.5$p/p) during the day, late at night expect to pay slightly more.
Tell the taxi driver Bambuda Castle and the street name is: El Santuario. We are right next to Santuario Lodge (formerly Villa Marita)

You can also catch the ‘colectivo’ a public shuttle that goes from Bruna. Bruna is a supermarket on the main street (it is the one with the huge red Balboa sign). Take any shuttle that says either; Alto Lino, Arco Iris or Palo Alto. The shuttle is 1,5$ per person

FROM DAVID

From the Airport, you can grab a taxi for 35-40 Dollars and it will bring you all the way to the Castle in about 40 min. Alternatively, you can grab a taxi to the bus terminal for about 5 Dollars and 10 min.
From the Bus Terminal, hop on the bus labeled Boquete, where for 1.75$ you will be driven to Boquete’s main square (last stop) in about an hour.

FROM PANAMA CITY

Fly to David or take a bus ride from Albrook Bus Terminal where for about 15 dollars if you take the day one’s (7-9 Hours) or around 18$ if you take the night one’s (express around 6 hours) will take you to David’s Bus Terminal.

FROM BOCAS DEL TORO

From the Lodge, ask our staff and they’ll be able to organize the transfer for you.
From Bocas Town, call Ramon from Bocas Transfer (+507 6782 0053) tell him that you are coming to the castle, to get a special price on your transfer.
Alternatively, you can take a public bus from the Bus Terminal in Almirante to David.

FROM PUERTO VIEJO

Call Ramon from Bocas Transfer (+507 6782 0053) tell him that you are coming to the castle, to get a special price on your transfer.
Alternatively, you can take a public bus to the Border, then a public bus to Almirante and from the Bus Terminal in Almirante one to David.

FROM SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA

Fly or take a bus to David.
